The Museum is built on the site of the original Waitohi Pa and local iwi are supportive of the Museum being on this important site. It is affiliated with “Museums of Aotearoa” and has good contacts with other regional and national museums.
PICTON HERITAGE & WHALING MUSEUM
The Picton Museum has a collection of some 2000 items of Maori, Whaling, Maritime, Heritage and Textile displays.
The Museum on London Quay is open from 10 am to 4 pm, 7 days a week closing only on Christmas Day. Entry fees are Adults $5, Students $3 and School Children $1.
