There are few places in the world like the Marlborough Sounds. If you’ve been here before, you’ll need little reminder of the 1500km of pristine coastline, teeming with wildlife. You’ll know what it’s like to explore the many coves and channels, at your pace; the serenity of the place reflected in the people you’re with. You’ll know how fresh the air tastes. You’ll know the feeling of having the whole place to yourselves.

You’ll know that when it’s time to rest up you’re spoiled for choice of sheltered spots to drop anchor, including three of the best marinas in New Zealand, each with a different feel so you can choose the place that’s most comfortable for you.

In the very heart of Picton Harbour, gateway to the Queen Charlotte Sound, and easy walking distance to the inter-island ferry terminal, cafes, restaurants, bars and shops. Recently expanded with a range of premium berths for 35m+ vessels. Excellent facilities for casual berthage.

The fully remodelled marina received the finishing touches in 2013 when the expanded inner basin (inland of the Coathanger Bridge) was completed. We know it’s a big call…but this really is a world-class marina.

We have permanent and visitor berths for vessels from eight to 35 metres plus. The Cook Strait ferries dock within walking distance, and the nearest airport is only a 10 minute shuttle ride away. Convince the driver to venture 10 minutes further, and you’ll find yourself in one of the most famous wine growing regions in the world. But don’t miss your flight!
